Revised NEET UG Results 2024 Yet to be Declared: Education Ministry
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the final revised NEET UG results 2024 and scorecards. Once available, all candidates who took the exam can check their results and scorecards on the NTA NEET official website.
On July 25, a link appeared on the NTA website that made people think the final revised scores were released. But the Education Ministry soon stated that this information was not true.
Why the Confusion in NEET UG Revised Results 2024
The NTA has had to revise the NEET UG results scores multiple times. First, due to a retest for 1,563 students, and then again after IIT Delhi suggested a five mark deduction for an incorrectly answered Physics question. This means that every single candidate’s rank could change, even those who initially scored perfectly.
The link that caused the commotion was actually an old one, activated after the first round of score revisions. It wasn’t a new announcement, but rather a chance for students to download their updated marksheets.
What Supreme Court said about Neet UG Results 2024
The Supreme Court of India ruled that only Option 4 of a certain question is correct, so any bonus points for other answers should be taken back. Candidates who picked Option 4 will earn 4 points. Those who chose a different option will lose 1 point. If a candidate didn’t try to answer the question, they won’t gain or lose any points.
Following a Supreme Court order from July 18, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released city and center specific results for NEET 2024 on July 20. These results show how many candidates took the exam in each of the 4,750 centers across 557 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The NTA has hidden candidates’ personal information as the Supreme Court required.

What is NEET UG Exam in India
NEET UG stands for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates. It is a national level entrance examination conducted in India for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy) courses.
NEET UG is a competitive exam that determines a student’s eligibility for pursuing a medical career in India. To secure a seat in a government or private medical college, students must clear this exam with a good rank.
Who conducts the NEET UG Exam in India
The NEET UG exam is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which took over from the CBSE in 2019. The NTA handles the application process, issues admit cards, oversees the exam at various centers, and releases the answer keys and results. Counselling for college seats under the All India Quota and State Quota is managed by national and state authorities separately. While the NTA organizes the exam, the National Medical Commission (NMC) provides guidance, helping to set and update the syllabus and eligibility criteria. The NTA then shares these updates on its official website on behalf of the NMC.
