Refund and Cancellation
We want every student to have a smooth experience at DistanceEducationSchool.com. This policy outlines the conditions under which refunds, cancellations, and payment adjustments may be considered. It also explains how we handle excess or unidentified payments.
Please read this policy carefully to understand how and when refund requests can be made.
1. Refund Requests & Eligibility
- A refund can be requested only if services were not delivered as promised and are not in line with our compliance standards.
- Refunds can only be processed after receiving a written application and the original fee receipt issued by Distance Education School.
- All refund requests are subject to review and approval by our Accounts Department.
- Once approved, the refund process may take 45 to 60 working days.
- Refunds are issued only via cheque. No online transfers, cash, or alternate modes will be used.
2. Non-Refundable Fees
Some payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, including:
- Registration fees
- Examination fees
- Revaluation or rechecking fees
- Program fees in case of:
- Admission cancellation due to ineligibility
- Failure to submit required documents
- Missed or delayed payments within the timeline
Refund requests in the above cases will not be accepted under any condition.
3. Missed Payments & Late Fees
- Students must follow the prescribed payment schedule shared at the time of admission.
- Late fee charges apply if payments are delayed.
- Students who do not clear their fees per the instalment timeline may be restricted from appearing in examinations.
- In case of non-payment of full fees, admission may be cancelled, and no refund will be applicable.
4. Excess or Unidentified Payments
- Distance Education School is not liable to automatically refund any excess or unidentified fees made by students for courses, exams, or other services.
- However, if the authorised signatory detects and approves such an amount, it can be adjusted for other eligible services within the same financial year.
- To request this adjustment, students must:
- Submit a formal application.
- Provide proof of payment.
- Ensure the application is submitted on or before March 31 of the same financial year.
- Retain and present the acknowledgement of receipt issued by the Distance Education School.
5. Demand Drafts Without Details
- If a Demand Draft (DD) is received without proper student information or fee purpose:
- It is held in a suspense account temporarily.
- The student must raise a request with details and proof to claim it.
- Such requests can only be processed within the same financial year (before March 31).
- No claims will be entertained after that date.
6. Late Admissions
Students admitted after the standard timeline (late admissions) are not eligible for:
- Any kind of refund
- Program or specialisation changes
- Installment-based payments
- Extended fee payment deadlines
Please make sure to verify everything before proceeding with late admissions.
7. Important Payment Advisory
- Students are strictly advised not to send any payments in cash via post or courier.
- Distance Education School will not be responsible for the return, loss, or non-receipt of any cash sent in this manner.
