In 1981, the Distance Education at Madras University established an exceptional Institute of Distance Education (IDE) to assist students in achieving their educational, career, and personal objectives. And it has served in the field of distance education for more than 25 years. Therefore, IDE now offers 16 undergraduate courses, 22 postgraduate courses, 19 diploma courses, and 16 certificate courses following the CBCS pattern (approved by UGC No.F.1-6/2018(DEB-1), dated 03.10.2018).
